Lakers Championship Tribute

Kobe's Circus Shot

Congrats to greatness; Kobe scores 40 for 100th time in NBA Career

Picture 1We here at TheLakersNation.com have covered Kobe for many years. We would like to say congratulations to Kobe’s 100th 40 point career game. Putting him third all time in NBA history behind Wilt and Jordan.

It came on a deep, deep three-ball in the closing moments on a night where Kobe put on an offensive show. Congrats KB24! Strike ‘em with that killer venom mamba!

1. Wilt Chamberlain (271)
2. Michael Jordan (173)
3. Kobe Bryant (100)

We are truly blessed to witness greatness night in and night out. Just take a moment to appreciate one of the most fierce competitors in league history, Kobe Bryant!

Additionally, the lethal scorer is nearing 2nd all time in lakers history as he needs 15 points to tie Kareem Abdul Jabbar. 16 for second place.

  1. Jerry West- 25,192 points
  2. Kareem Abdul Jabbar- 24,176 points
  3. Kobe Bryant- 24,161 points

Kobe said this after the game…

Kobe on his groin: “I wanted to come out and have a good game and have people stop asking about it.” 40 points works.

Solidifies his reputation as one of the best ever to play the game.

Congrats to Kobe, and props to him for playing through a painful injury and putting up 40.

With Pau back now, he wont have to put up 40 every game now.

what more can the man do to prove that he is still the best active player today and arguably on the top 5 off all time ? Congrats to you KB24

Great achievement, Kobe might have a chance at reaching MJ, but Wilt was a beast back then no way that record will ever be broken, not even Lebron can reach that even though he’s so young.

  6. lol. I wonder if Kobe will ever surpass MJ in this category because Lakers have so many versatile scorers right now.

  7. As long as he continues dominance in the post, he COULD reach M.J.; though we won’t need him to do it when we’re at full strength, I believe.

Either way, he’s solidified his place in NBA history on more than one occasion. He’s amazing.

What a way to get to 100th 40+ win too. Game almost over, clock running down, Kobe shoots the 28 foot 3 point shot, shot clock buzzes, it goes in!

Wow, this man never impresses me anymore, he does it so much, like its nothing and yet the degree of difficulty is out of this world.

Kobe will forever be a Laker

Glad to see Kobe is back, hope he keeps this up. But it has been an honor and a privilege to watch this man play basketball. He is the most skilled player ive ever seen, and to me, the best ever. I kno I will shed tears when he retires, but until then, let the Mamba live on!
