Lakers interested in bringing back Tony Gaffney

I like him! Let’s see what happens…

g113000524809d50c1085a9a8c57fb2810cc2c442f55c48Press Enterprise: As soon as the Lakers learned Luke Walton would miss at least six weeks as a result of a pinched nerve in his back, they immediately began looking into bolstering the depth of their depleted front court.

Forward Tony Gaffney’s agent said Tuesday that the Lakers called the previous day to inquire about possibly bringing their former camp invite back. Gaffney, the last player cut during training camp, is currently playing professionally in Israel.

“There’s nothing imminent, but it’s a possibility,” agent Sam Porter said. “They’re over the luxury tax obviously and they’re trying to keep payroll down as much as possible. Maybe they try to go without adding a player, but they did like Tony a lot.”

    YES BRING HIM BACK

  2. Marwan says:

I honestly dont know how to feel.

Cant we just add Jerry Stackhouse? He is a great veteran and he and Kobe go way back to when Kobe was a rookie.

  3. djzzero says:

i’m glad they are deciding to bring this guy. He did pretty good during the preaseason, not sure why they waived him. Let’s see what happens.

  4. Good call but get Stackhouse if it’s possible.

  5. LAKESHOW420 says:

get Stackhouse, forget this scrub, we need a proven veteran

  6. Evil Empire says:

Bring Gaffney back. I really liked his game. Trade sasha and luke to get the luxury tax down!!!

  7. drive-for-16th says:

get stackhouse, hes more reliable than this guy, But trade SASHA AND MORRISON

  8. 007 says:

isn’t this the dude who slept with some other dude’s arm around his neck while gaffney himself was wearing a 08 celtic’s championship tshirt??

  9. sega says:

    Bring Stackhouse

    Gaffney won’t do anything

We need someone from the bench with a slasher mentality. Too many 3’s when the the bench is out by themselves

  10. etreyy08 says:

Trade Sasha and Morrison…for Ellis LOL

    we need a PG

  11. Gino says:

sign gaffney and stack. ship out luke, sasha, and morrison’s expiring contract. maybe we can get ellis? fish has the poise and heart of a champion…but i don’t know if he last all 82 games anymore. maybe start shannon and have fish come of the bench? he’s still a clutch shooter like robert horry. horry had a crappy season until that series on sac-queens. i have faith we need fish for something epic like that this season.

  12. Popcorn says:

Does anyone thinks that Gerald Green could be any good for the bench?. The guy’s game is raw but he’s still young and very athletic. I see some similarities in him with Ariza; not saying he will be as good as Ariza but seems to me that long athletic guys work good for the triangle system.
Besides that; we can get him for cheap ( I will think); right now Morrison is a zero factor and Walton is out.
The Lakers should start either Farmar or Brown send fisher to the bench and probably make a trade for a veteran point guard that can play some defense.

  13. L.Alaker_show says:

no dont get him he will just take away that little playing time that dj gets….we should consider getting stackhouse he’s a veteran proven one honestly wat is gaffney gonna bring to us u guys just want him cause u feel sorry for him he’s a scrub

  14. daboss1849 says:

do the lakers have a white boy quota? one goes down so we have to get another one?

  15. lakerman1 says:

They like him but they cut him. Go figure.

  16. Smush Walton says:

I had hoped Morrison could make a contribution, but it is clear now he is a zero. Luke – he should just retire and work in his restaurant full time. Sasha – another guy not contributing much. Hopefully we can unload these three and in their place get one decent player.
