Vujacic continues to see less playing time with Lakers
Daily News: Is there a place for Sasha Vujacic in the Lakers’ rotation?
So far, there seems to be only a limited one as a backup guard.
What’s more, it has been diminished greatly since last season or from 2007-08.
Vujacic’s line from the Lakers’ victory Tuesday over the New York Knicks was fairly typical this season: Zero points on 0-for-3 shooting in 8 minutes, 17 seconds.
Matchups in recent games have dictated Vujacic’s playing time.
“With the type of guard corps we have, with the type of bench we have, a lot of it is about who is going to match up well, and the type of game that is being played against us,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said when asked about Vujacic’s role.
Certainly, it would have been difficult to play the 6-foot-7 Vujacic against New York’s Chris Duhon or Nate Robinson, two small and speedy guards. Vujacic also would have been hard-pressed to keep pace with Larry Hughes, who is listed at 6-foot-5.
“We’ve played a lot of games against teams with smaller guards,” Vujacic said. “I don’t know how it’s going to be in the next few games, but I’ve got to stay ready.”

He might have the same faith as Vladimir Radmanivic. Which is that his situation is that the Lakers are paying him a lot of money and he’s hardly getting any playing time. Lakers might trade him away for someone else or for some salary cap purposes.
