Kobe’s advice to Bron on playing with Shaq: “I won’t give him none”

I love this…

Yahoo! Sports: If LeBron James(notes) is looking for advice on how to play with Shaquille O’Neal(notes), he’d be wasting his time asking Kobe Bryant.

“I clearly know, but I’m not saying nothing,” Bryant said. “That’s something that I had to do.”

So what did you do?

“I figured it out,” Bryant said. “That’s something that [James] needs to do. I won’t give him advice.”

Did James call you for advice on O’Neal?

“I won’t give him none. I’ve given him enough already.”

  1. As old as that picture is, I love it!

That’s some bad English; it’s “I won’t give him any advice” or “I will give him none”.

“I won’t give him none” is a double negative which translates “I will give him advice”.

You know Kobe’s straight hood with it. He ain’t worried about no grammar.

    • LakerDownUnder says:

“I will give him none” is also incorrect. Since “none” doesn’t exist you can’t give it. I won’t give him any is the only correct expression.

      • Marwan says:

Gee who gives an F. With the way hes playing, the Rings hes got, the money hes making by playing as one of the best basketball players ever, he can say what he wantss to say and he can do what he wants to do (within reason).

So shut the F up and leave him alone.

i don’t blame KB for his response. it’s like they’re trying make a big deal out of nothing. it’s not like cleveland is doing terribly right now that they need any advice. vince young’s situation was totally different. on the flip side, i’m sure people will make a big deal out of nothing if KB ended up giving advice to lebron.

  7. LakersAllTheWay says:

This is kobe just trying to keep his lips shut. Smart move by kobe. It is not disrespect to Lebron. Think laker fans what if he did give advice what could be gained from it? Just more controversy and Shaq would have to respond and so would Lebron. Then others would make a big deal of it. I am sorry to say but sometimes Laker fans are so stupid. Sometimes in life its best to keep your mouth shut. Kobe knows what he is doing.

  8. Robert says:

Why would Kobe say anything about Shaq? It took years for the media to stop playing the Kobe vs. Shaq card. For Kobe to tell LeBron ‘how to work with Shaq’ would definitely set Shaq off, and then we would get another ‘show’. Just what the media wants.
Kobe learned (after many experiences) to keep quiet about everything, and speak only about the present game (one game at a time).
LeBron has his hands full with Shaq. Just like Nash had to work with him. He’s a dominant player, but works well only with very specific offenses, like the Triangle, etc. He doesn’t work well with ‘run and gun’, and it looks like he may be clogging the lane for LeBron’s signature shot (maybe his only shot — run to the basket and slam). Shaq won’t work well regular season, but will be key in the playoffs, when he has to defend big guys (K. Perkins, Dwight Howard, etc.), if he stays healthy. Sorry LeBron – have a fun season!

  9. Kobe sometimes is hard to understand he speaks fast.
When you speak several langauages sometimes that happens.
If you listen to Pau who very bright he speaks english fast and sometimes his words sound strange.
Keeping winning who cares. Half of you Morons cant spell and write no better than a third grader.
As for Fat Shaq dude is a mess ,has screwed up the mix
    for Le bron.
He whats to come back as a laker and retire his number
as a Laker.Kobe hates him so he wont be coming back soon.
Shaq is lucky hee has played with great players Kobe.Wade,Nash ,Le bron how about that.
