Kobe's Circus Shot

Bryant’s Elbow is “Fine”

This is good news. Here is an update on Kobe’s elbow.

Lakers BasketBlog: Phil Jackson offered an anecdote from Saturday night’s 112-103 double overtime victory in Sacramento that explained how Kobe Bryant feels about coming out of basketball games, no matter what the injury.

“At one time, I asked (Head Athletic Trainer) Gary Vitti to check with him in a time out,” said Jackson. “He came back and said, ‘If I tell you that he can’t play, he’s going to break my arm.’”

Bryant, who had essentially been playing with his left hand before nailing back-to-back three-pointers in the second overtime, eventually figured out how to adjust his shot to the pain.

“I thought he could play through it and help the team, and that was the important part,” said Jackson. “Pain is an inhibitor, and your body will react through the pain. He’s a guy that’s capable of doing that.”

Bryant didn’t go into as much detail.

“The elbow’s fine … next question,” said Bryant before reporters even had a chance to ask. “It’s not like a lingering thing, just a stinger that will go away.”

Kobe concluded that he doesn’t expect the elbow (or his finger, or knee) to inhibit him when the Lakers face the Suns on Monday night in Phoenix.

wow. talk about man amongst boys. this guy is like those shaolin monks who’re immune to pain and able to do all that mind control stuff that they train themselves for. maybe kobe visits those monasteries in china to get some enhanced training from those dudes.

Kobe’s the man, like I’ve said before, you would have to half kill that guy to get him out of a game. He is the ultimate warrior. We’ve been blessed with being able to watch the greatest player in the game on our team.

BTW, props to Baron Davis for taking out the Celtics tonight. The only thing that comes close to watching the Lakers pull out that game in double OT against Sac town, was watching the Clippers take out those arrogant trash talking clowns. I’m lovin’ it.

Reporting from Phoenix – The Lakers moved on to Phoenix. Ron Artest remained home in Los Angeles.

The Lakers forward, who missed Saturday night’s game at Sacramento after sustaining a concussion, visited a neurologist Sunday and was told his condition was improving. But he was not cleared to play, will be revaluated again today and, if cleared, will fly to Phoenix and play tonight against the Suns.

Dammit, that ass Lebron is copying Kobe’s shoes now. For those that do buy Kobe’s shoes, you would know that he has the gradients, the 2 Laker colors on both sides that fade out as they get to the middle, and Lebron did that with his ugly 7s. And Kobe also has an all black shoe, which he has had for like 3 years now, which he calls the “Black Mamba” and once again, Lebron did that, he has an all black Zoom 7. Dammit, the ass cant get his own design.

  10. another FAKE injury from the king of phoney…..he sure loves being the messiah, him and obama ..You girls feed right in to it..tards..

  13. GOAT?……Maybe Rat.

  14. Rollin says:

OOOUUUCCHHH..Lets let Dudley shoot some more 3’s!! Man we miss Artest. No D at all tonight. 100+ points early in the 4th. They did not stop the ball at all tonight and no body can buy a bucket. Plus their bench mopped the floor with ours. I wonder how long the Lakers are hoping the bench comes out of their slump. I’m hoping Mitch is working some deals to shake things up again. Either this team is tired (already). Or we’re really seeing chinks in the armor. Let’s hope tomorrow at home we get more effort.
