Kobe will play game #1,000 tonight

Update: Kobe not playing tonight. Game #1,000 will have to wait for another time.

After 13 and a half incredible seasons, Kobe Bryant will mark another milestone tonight, game #1,000.

It’s hard to say whether this milestone is bitter sweet. In most cases, the 1,000th game marks the final stages of a players career – but it’s easy to see that Kobe’s still in his prime. Derek Fisher trails Kobe with 997 career games; his 1,000th game will be played against Utah on February 10th.

The big games comes off an embarrassing loss to Denver, and if you’re a believer in habitual losses, it doesn’t get better. Game #1,000 will be played in Portland’s Rose Garden where the Lakers have failed to capture a victory since Feb. 23, 2005.

What a better way to celebrate than to end that streak.

Robert Parish holds the record with 1611 career games; will Kobe surpass that?

  1. Recently, bad things happen every time Kobe sets a record.

I think kobe is going to rest a season ala jordan after he wins 2 more consecutive rings…so sad to say but kobe maybe going to play for 5-6 years more left…I don’t yet have the player to watch next door like jordan to kobe era…lebron is not an ICON he just don’t look like…do you guys have any suggestion who’s the player to watch after him?
I do remember year 1988 I become a laker fan but never watch a game of them cause NBA is not yet familiar on our country, I just saw a foster of them holding a trophy…and on the 90′s I watch jordan quite some times I hate him but I use to duplicate his moves when I play basketball….and year 1996 I bought a local sports magazine and that year I am so excited that shaq is going to LA…and on the other page there is a list of rookies to be draft which led by IVERSON and every rookie has a description and above all the list I cant forget is no 13 that says is reputedly a mixture of penny and grant hill that average 30 points a game and just a 17 yrs. old …I said wow he must be someone to watch for and I become more excited when the news said he’s going to LA and I became a solid LA since then…….
