TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers @ Mavericks

Another sluggish start. Another entertaining win for the Lake Show! It seems that no matter how terrible this team plays, we can still pull out wins.

I know I say it in every post game report, but I love this teams depth. Every game we have different people finishing. Tonight, Lamar and Ariza stepped in to close the game.

The Lakers won the game with defense in the end as they had 13 steals as a team and held Dallas to under 42%. Offensively, the Lakers did their thing, with tip dunks and fadeaways from Kobe.

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Rockets

Who would have though the Lakers would finish the game with a 29 point rout after that start?

The Lakers got outplayed in the first quarter, but the rest of the game was all L.A.! The Lakers defense for the remainder of the game was some of the best I had seen in awhile. The Lakers once again showed what separates them from the rest of the elite — depth and defense.

The Lakers shot 53% from the field and 53% from behind the arc. The keys were their 26 assists and 19 turnovers forced. 50 boards, 13 steals, 10 blocks. The Lakers really filled up the box scores.

This was just an entertaining game to watch with tons of highlights if you are a Lakers fan

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Clippers

When the game started I told my friends, can we at least have it be close, and then just dominate in the end. I didn’t want to see Luke play the entire fourth in a blowout tonight. It turns out I got my wish as the Lakers trailed in the fourth, only to go on a huge run that couldn’t be answered by the Clippers.

The Lakers remained undefeated at the still winless Clippers expense.

The Lakers had a balanced attack with 8 players scoring 9 or more points tonight. Amazingly, the Lakers still put up 106 points despite shooting under 39% from the field, mostly due to the free throw attempts and offensive boards.

The Clippers really didn’t have an answer to the Lakers size even with Camby and Kaman inside as the Lakers got tons of boards and were fouled 32 times.

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers @ Nuggets

The Lakers continued to play good basketball as they played their first game out of Los Angeles.

Tonight in Denver, the Lakers played a bit sluggishly, but forced enough turnovers and grabbed enough boards to win the game.

The Lakers still have room to improve but I’m enjoying what I have seen from this team.

Size matters and it was shown tonight as the Lakers had 53 boards, 15 more than the Nuggets. The Lakers also had some different rotations tonight since Bynum got in early foul trouble.

What I love about this team is that we can shoot 37% from the field, and win. The team is deep and balanced.

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Blazers

Welcome back, Lakers Nation! A great start to a promising Lakers season.

The Lakers took care of the young Blazers pretty easily tonight with a 96-76 win at Home. The two things that impressed me the most tonight were…

1) The Lakers depth — This team is deep… very deep. With Lamar, Ariza, and Farmar off the bench, this team doesn’t lose a beat. In fact, they might even be better than some of the starters on this team.

2) The defense. The Lakers were everywhere tonight, challenging shots, deflecting passes and blocking shots. The Blazers were held under 35% shooting tonight.

The Lakers really made the Blazers look young and inexperienced tonight. Every Laker did their part to lead us to this nice victory to begin the season. The much anticipated Bynum vs. Oden matchup became a dud, but there will be many more to look forward to.

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Thunder

This was an entertaining Friday night game as they closed out the preseason like I hope they pull off Tuesday night vs Portland — only with Kobe in the lineup.

The Lakers moved the ball well on offense and shot extremely well at 55% for the game, with much thanks to Andrew. One of the only downers continues to be the turnover-prone Lakers. 23 turnovers tonight is just too many. They need to clean it up this weekend. Since it is a preseason game, I will keep it short.

TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Jazz

Welcome back to Laker basketball!

It seriously feels like it has been forever. And it looks like the fans of Lakers Nation weren’t the only ones rusty from Laker basketball. The Lakers found a way to turn the ball over 23 times tonight in a poorly executed game. But it doesn’t really matter since it doesn’t count so let’s think positive. How great was it to see Bynum back in action! It is amazing how deep this team can be when healthy.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Bynum had 15 points and 8 boards in limited minutes. Looked strong and beastly. Bynumite!

2) Farmar was quick to the basket and poured in 15 points off the bench. Great first game back for Farmar.

3) Ariza had 10 points in the starters role and played that role perfectly…should be interesting to see how many games if any, he starts.

Team U.S.A. Post-Game Report: U.S.A. vs. China

You would have never been able to tell it was a rainy day in Beijing, China. Inside, it was intense and had a championship atmosphere. On the court, it wasn’t much different. The game started with Yao hitting a three-pointer and the China started out hot. They hit their first four threes and kept pace with Team USA for the first 15 minutes.

Then, Kobe and USA went on a run. Sparked by defensive stops, Team USA seemingly had 5 dunks in a row and opened the game to a 12 point lead going into the half. In the half-court set, Team USA struggled mightily. They had many turnovers and missed just about every three-point attempt. Their offense came on the fast break and off the offensive boards.

First-half notes as I’m watching…
