All it took was a fourth quarter comeback capped by a game winner from none other than Kobe Bryant.

After Bosh hit a three in the closing seconds, Kobe answered with a fadeaway jumper with just over a second remaining to give the Lakers a 109-107 victory.

The Lakers simply didn’t play hard in the first half, giving up 58 points to Toronto and couldn’t hit a shot from downtown ending 3 of 15.

While it was an ugly win, it was much needed. The Lakers need to get some wins with Denver creeping up on them in the standings.

The starting Laker bigs offensively did well with 39 points combined, but did a poor job on the glass as the Lakers only got 40 rebounds as a team, allowing 11 offensive boards.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe had 32, 6 and 6 with a game winner!

2) Bynum had 22 points on 8 of 12 shooting.

3) Lamar had 10, 8 and 5 off the bench. Another solid game.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Shannon shot 2 of 9 and just didn’t have it tonight.

Play of the Night: What do you think?

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers travel to Phoenix Friday night after a few days rest. Look for a W.

Ticket Info: Next home game is a week from Friday vs. the Timberwolves. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 for info. on how to lock these tickets up today!

Go Lakers!

Kobe Bryant did all you could ask for as he brought us back making incredible shot after incredible shot. He also should have won us the game, but the refs blew a big call late as Wade fouled Kobe in the closing seconds of the fourth.

Six Lakers hit double figures, shooting over 50% for the game and even higher in the second half.

The downside tonight, aside from the loss was the lack of ball movement. The Lakers only had 15 assists all night as they watched Kobe take over.

Wade didn’t particularly hurt the Lakers tonight even though he had 27 points and 14 assits. The Dagger came from Richardson who hit a guarded three to put Miami up two as he finished with 25 points.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe had 39 points and made countless shots late.

2) Artest had 10 points and 5 steals. He played solid all night, except for those two missed free-throws in the closing minutes in the fourth.

3) Lamar had 13 and 11 off the bench.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Pau didn’t do much all night.

Play of the Night: The oop to Brown.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers travel to Charlotte Friday night. Look for a Lakers W.

Th offense really came through for the Lakers as they hit over 50% of their shots including 10 pointers with lots of points off the bench. They also had 33 assists for the night and forced many turnovers to a sloppy Indiana team.

It was just a very good performance by the Lakers as they looked as good as they have in a long time.

Every Laker that played scored, except for Powell and six hit double figures. The Lakers really just hit their shots and grabbed every loose ball.

Definitely a fun game to watch!

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Artest had 11 points and 5 steals and held Granger to 9 points. AMAZING GAME BY ARTEST!

2) Gasol had another double double with 14 and 16 for the Lakers.

3) Farmar had 19 off the bench on 8 of 10 shooting.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Powell was the only scoreless Laker.

Play of the Night: Pau’s oop to Bynum early in the game.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers travel to Miami Thursday night. Should be a fun one for fans.

The Lakers made yet another comeback Sunday afternoon at Staples Center against the second place Nuggets.

Both teams really played well tonight. There was a lot of aggressive defense, good passing, and some incredible shots on both ends.

For a game built around two superstars, the scoring was very balanced. Neither team had a player score more than 21 points.

If you knew the Nuggets would only shoot 36% from the field and the Lakers would have 16 steals, you probably would have guessed a blowout game, but this one stayed close to the very end.

Lamar Odom really stepped up today as Gasol was getting pretty abused on the inside. Phil took out Pau briefly in the fourth to send him a message and Gasol responded with a huge rebound, a big score, and the game securing tip rebound to the backcourt.

It was a big win for the Lakers as the Nuggets are likely the team they will face in May again.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Lamar had 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals. He really stepped up today.

2) Artest had 17 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 6 steals! He also played amazing defense on Melo. I think this is one of his best games of the year.

3) Pau really stepped up in the final 2 minutes and finished with 15 points and 14 boards.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Kobe might have had 12 assists but he shot 3 of 17 and had 5 turnovers.

Play of the Night: Fisher’s no look shot on the break that didn’t count.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers host Indiana Tuesday night at home. Should be a high scoring game… very high scoring.

Ticket Info: Next home game is Tuesday vs. the Pacers. Tickets starting at $40. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 for info on how to lock these tickets up today! Go Lakers!!!

The Lakers nearly battled back for another road victory, but fell short on a missed Kobe three point attempt with 30 seconds left in the game.

The Lakers defensively played very well holding the Mavericks to under 44 % from the field and 16 turnovers, but they got beat up on the glass and shot 10 less freethrows. They really shot poor behind the arc making only 5 of 17, about one three short from possibly sending the game into to overtime.

Every Laker starter hit double figures and Lamar added 21 off the bench.

This was a big game for the Lakers as it was a potential Western Conference Finals matchup, and the Lakers can take away many good things from tonights loss on the road in a back to back.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Lamar had 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting off the bench.

2) Artest had 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting and forced Marion into 5 turnovers.

3) No Laker really stood out as number three. Bynum had a double-double, but had 5 turnovers. Maybe Farmar off the bench?

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Fisher didn’t do much all night.

Play of the Night: Fisher’s no look shot on the break… that didn’t count.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers host Philly Friday night. Should be a fun game.

Clearly that lead wasn’t large enough as it only took two missed free throws by Mayo and two clutch threes by Kobe to seal a win for the Lakers Tuesday night in Memphis.

Kobe and Mayo battled all night in this game. Both players made some incredible shots and led their teams in scoring.

The Grizzlies really played well tonight and made some difficult shots in traffic.

In the end, the Lakers inside presence was just too much. Gasol and Bynum may not have scored much, but they physically wore down the Grizzlies big men.

It was a pretty sloppy game for the team, but they did just enough to come out with the win–much thanks to number 24.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe’s 32 points and 2 late threes say enough.

2) Pau had 22 and 13 tonight, but his four turnovers were a bit abnormal.

3) Fisher had 10 points, 3 assists, 3 steals and hit 2 early threes.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Artest was 1 for 9… after missing the game winner last time in Memphis he can’t wait to go home.

Play of the Night: The Lakers fast break ending with Farmar’s oop to Bynum, but Kobe’s game-winner tops it tonight.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers head to Dallas for a huge game Wednesday night against the much improved Dallas Mavericks. Should be a high scoring game.

Ticket Info: Next home game is Friday vs. the Philadelphia 76′ers. Tickets starting at $75. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 for info. on how to lock these tickets up today!

Against an explosive Warrior team, the Lakers needed plenty of offense and Brown led the way with 27 points for our Lakers. Every Lakers player starter hit double figures, which was a must tonight as they really only rotated 8 players.

The key tonight was the Lakers perimeter defense as they held the Warrior guards Corey Maggette and Stephen Curry to a combined 9 of 37 shooting!

The Lakers also out rebounded the Warriors 53 to 36 mostly due to Lamar’s 18 off the bench.

Biedren’s was never really a factor tonight as he was in foul trouble all night long. It was a really sloppy games on both ends, but the Lakers great defense helped hide their 19 turnovers.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Brown had 27 points and 10 boards.

2) Bynum had 21 points on 8 of 11 shooting.

3) Fisher had 11 points, but contested many jump shots to hold Curry to one of his worst games of the season.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Sasha was scoreless tonight in 17 minutes.

Play of the Night: Brown’s entire game. Kobe can sit the rest of the month if Shannon keeps this up.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers host Boston in a huge game Thursday night. Should be a low scoring game.

Ticket Info: Next home game is Thursday vs. the much hated Boston Celtics. Tickets start at $135. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 for info. on how to lock these tickets up today!

The Lakers shot the ball very well, shooting over 58% from the field. The Lakers also took care of the ball with 23 assists to only 9 turnovers for the game. They were clean with only 13 fouls.

It really was just an easy game for the Lakers against a poor Wizards team.

Five Laker players hit double figures, including Kobe and Pau with 26 apiece. The Lakers defense tonight wasn’t particularly amazing but the offense made up for it.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau had 26 points and 10 boards on 10 of 15 shooting.

2) Kobe had 26 points and 8 assists. Very good game if you take away his six turnovers.

3) Lamar had 15 and 8 off the bench.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Artest didn’t really hurt us, but he didn’t help us either much tonight.

Play of the Night: Brown’s fast break dunk.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers fly back to Indiana Wednesday night to face the Pacers. Should be an easy W.

Ticket Info: Next home game is not until February. Lakers will be taking on the Bobcats on 2/3. Also selling tickets to NBA All Star weekend in Dallas. It was one of the few games since Gasol arrived in L.A. that the Lakers lost after leading after 3 quarters of play.

The Lakers had a 4 point lead with less than 2 minutes and the ball, but did not execute well late. Bad fouls, bad shots, and turnovers beat the Lakers.

It really just sucks to lose at the free-throw line. I would have also liked to see the Lakers set up a better final play rather than Kobe hoisting a long fadeway three-pointer in the final second.

Three Lakers had over 20 points tonight and Farmar came in off the bench to add 17.

The difference tonight came at the line where the Raptors shot 17 more free throws than the Lakers.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe had a near triple double with 27 points, 16 boards and 9 assists.

2) Bynum had 21 points, 9 boards and 2 blocks.

3) Farmar added 17 off the bench on 7 of 11 shooting in 21 minutes.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Shannon Brown had a costly mistake late in the game with a turnover.

Play of the Night: Kobe’s dunk from the right side of the lane.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers hit the nations capital Tuesday night as they face the Arenas-less Wizards. Should be an easy W.

Ticket Info: Next home game is not until February. Lakers will be taking on the Bobcats on 2/3. Also selling tickets to NBA All Star weekend in Dallas.
The many Laker fans in attendance got a treat in a game that went back and forth until the fourth quarter when the Lakers clamped down on defense finally and hit many big shots. The Lakers fourth quarter effort tonight was just enough as they hung on for a 115-105 victory.

Every Laker starter hit double figures, both Farmar and Brown had 9 off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot over 50% from both the field and three-point line.

It was a clean game with only 14 turnovers combined from both teams and very little interior defense as the bigs from both teams dominated the game.

Kobe and Pau also had 23 of the final 31 for the Lakers tonight.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau had 20 points, 8 boards, 5 assists, and 4 blocks… only downside is Lee almost did the same!

2) Kobe didn’t shoot very well, but he hit the big shots late in the fourth to close the game.

3) Bynum shot 7 of 11 for 19 points tonight. He needs to do a better job helping to clean up the boards.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): No Laker tonight played STD-like. Luke missed a layup but made up for it with a 3 point shot on the same possession.

Play of the Night: Laker fans chanting “Let’s Go Lakers!” in the fourth quarter at the Garden.

What to Look for Next Game: The Lakers take on the Raptors Sunday afternoon. Should be a higher scoring game… at least for Kobe.

Ticket Info: Next home game is not until February with the Grammys at Staples. Lakers will be taking on the Bobcats on 2/3. Also selling tickets to NBA All Star Weekend in Dallas. Support Shannon and Kobe or you can just come join me and hang out in Dallas for the weekend!
