Hello, GetGarnett family!

Just as many of you Laker addicts, I have been scouring the internet and various news media for any little scrap of crumb that can give me a little sustenance in any hope of having Mr. Big Ticket playing in “forum blue” and gold.

Well, at another L.A. mega superstar’s debut, amongst “fútbol” fans in the stands, was the dark silhouette of the coveted Big Bald Head himself.

That’s right folks! We’ve seen him at the tennis tournaments supporting his friend Blake and now, along with, Arnold the Governator, Katie Holmes “Cruise”, her baby Suri Cruise, Posh Spice and many other stars, Kevin Garnett was gallivanting with soccer “suckheads” to catch a glimpse of English pretty boy David Beckham. Watch your television sports highlights tonight and you can see that the media frenzy was “Kobe-esque” to say the least.

Seeing Garnett cheer Beckham on, and then gasping in horror as the soccer player was tripped, convinces me even more that this guy’s true destiny is to be here in Los “Ang-Heles”. It was natural to witness him amongst the Hollywood Hoopla as it is natural for it to be traffic on the 405 freeway on the way to LAX. Therefore, my message to Garnett is the following:

Garnett Watch 2007 is in effect!

Garnett Watch 2007Seems like our Lakers savior is a tennis fan since his been attending a few tennis games down here in UCLA. Plus, spending time with his good friend, top U.S.A. player, James Blake. Plus, he went back and watched another friend of Blake play. Also, the Sacramento Bee reported recently that Garnett is expected to participate in Mike Bibby’s upcoming Fantasy Camp in Rocklin starting July 23. Busy guy, eh?

However, that didn’t stop Clublakers’ poster kginla2006 from spreading the movement to Garnett himself, even if he sort of had to force it upon him.

Here’s a recap of what he did to spread the movement:

Thought I’d let you guys know I saw KG tonight at the Countrywide tennis tourny at ucla. I waited outside the courts for him for awhile, wearing a Lakers t shirt, once the Blake match was done. And there he was (Garnett) as he passed right by me out of the players lounge clubhouse and almost no one noticed nor said much of anything waiting for James Blake to sign autographs and not kg (KG declined to sign anything saying to one kid “I’m not a tennis player, so i wont sign ur tennis ball”). I yelled to KG ,”come to la come to la man come on!” He didnt answer. Then some woman next to me yells, “KG ya minnnnnnesottta”. He looks back at her and says “ya, thats what up!” I was definitely pissed but happy to see KG and I was able to mention a brief “go to getgarnett.com” before he exited the area. Luckily I ran into him again about 5 minutes later with barely anyone around him as he was leaving the tennis center. I said from about 2 feet away, “come on kg come to the lakers man we need you, we love you man.” NO ANSWER! He barely acknowledged me and so as he’s walking to the exit for the parking lot I say “think about it man think about it!” And there it is, my KG encounter in a nutshell. He’s still a great guy though EVEN though it appears he doesnt want to leave minni. Dont believe me? Heres a pic, apologies for the poor quality of my camera-phone.

Oh, and if you do see Kevin Garnett on the streets of L.A., be sure to let him know that the Purple and Gold fans want him to stay here. While your at it, throw a “GetGarnett.com” plug in there too.

Garnett no likies the movement…

The movement is spreading, folks. However, Mr. Garnett doesn’t seem to like it… Nevertheless, we’re still here and keeping the faith.

L.A Times: BTW, tennis observers report that Garnett didn’t look amused when he was shown on the video screen and public-address announcer Ted Sobel intoned, “There’s a team in purple and gold that could use you.”

Garnett in L.A.

Here is a small update on where KG is, at least as of yesterday:

Inside the Lakers Blog: The Daily News’ Matt Kredell reports that Kevin Garnett was at UCLA yesterday, watching some tennis. Garnett told Matt that he’s friends with Mardy Fish, who was playing a match against Sam Querrey. Garnett wouldn’t give up any information about whether he might be staying in L.A. on a longer-term basis…

Also, Kredell stayed to watch James Blake. Blake said he is friends with Garnett’s agent and that Fish is friendds with Garnett’s wife. Professional sports is a small world…
