finalspreg5

The Los Angeles Lakers have the Orlando Magic on the brink. They’re a resilient team that will put up a fight but their backs are against the wall. Isn’t it ironic that the Magic shot lights out in game 3 but the Lakers are about to make them disappear?

It has been said numerous times that it isn’t a series until the home team loses; as we all know that happened in game four in dramatic fashion with Derek Fisher adding to his Laker legend by knocking down two huge three point shots. One shot to put the team in overtime and another to win the game.

The Los Angeles Lakers remain in Orlando for the all important Game Four of the NBA Finals. Los Angeles is looking to bounce back from their loss in Game Three. Despite what you might hear or read somewhere else.

This isn’t the time to panic; when you look at the loss there are several things you have to keep in mind. The Magic found their shooting touch at home and set an NBA record for shooting in an NBA Finals game but the Lakers lost by a total of four points and were in position to win the game.

The Lakers showed that they had the desire, experience and toughness to compete at the highest level. Los Angeles has been the more physical team in this series as well as their last four games.

The Lakers last four games have shown that this team is ready to win a championship and nothing else matters. The game one win was a total team effort and thorough beat down of the Orlando Magic. Game Two was different the Lakers forced overtime and showed their experience executing in overtime. I described Game one as a man and his moment describing how Kobe Bryant was going to take control of this series.

Here it is the moment the Los Angeles Lakers and their fans have waited an entire year for, the chance to erase the mistakes of last season. Tonight the Lakers host the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals also known as basketballs biggest stage.

This is exactly where the Lakers wanted to be, Los Angeles had several things that had to be achieved this year three of the season long goals were to have home court advantage, return to the Finals and win it all; the team is four wins away from accomplishing all three goals.

TLN’s Playoff Preview: Lakers @ Nuggets [Game 6]

The Lakers are in Denver for Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals and I have no choice but to feel a little bit of De ja Vu. The reasons are simple; the Lakers were in this same position game 4 of this series and game 4 of the Houston series.

I feel that the Lakers have learned their lesson and understand the importance of the position that they’re in. However, the Lakers haven’t won two consecutive big games in a row. This statistic needs to change tonight.

TLN’s Playoff Preview: Lakers vs. Nuggets [Game 5]

The Lakers return to the Staples Center for Game 5. The series is tied at 2 games apiece but that means that the Western Conference Finals is now a three game series. The Lakers need to win two games and they’re in the Finals.

The Lakers had a terrible effort in game 4; the team was out-played, out-scored, out-rebounded, out-hustled, out-fought and got blown out, 48 hours removed from playing very well and taking game 3.

TLN’s Playoff Preview: Lakers @ Nuggets [Game 4]

The Lakers win in Game 3 not only gave the team a 2-1 lead in the series it also saw them take back the home court advantage. It also provided the Lakers with the opportunity to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series with a win today.

Today’s game in my opinion is the biggest game of the series and the Lakers need to approach it like a must win game.

TLN’s Playoff Preview: Lakers vs. Nuggets [Game 3]

The Lakers are in Denver to face the Nuggets in the third game of the series. The first two games have given us some exciting basketball. Two up-and-down, back and forth games that have been close between two highly skilled teams.

Both games were eerily similar with two differences, in both games it has come down to execution in the fourth quarter the Lakers executed in game one and the Nuggets returned the favor in game two.
