We won’t forget too, Pau. Will be their rooting for our beloved Lakers, stronger then ever!
Inside the Lakers: The normally reserved, thoughtful Pau Gasol was downright feisty when asked about the emotions he’ll carry with him from the recently concluded NBA Finals against the Celtics.
Gasol said that the pain from the loss will linger for a long time, as will his memory of Boston fans shaking the Lakers team bus as they drove away from TD Banknorth Arena Tuesday night.
“I’m definitely going to keep these feelings, because it wasn’t pleasant to see all the Boston fans go crazy on us after the game and hitting the bus and all that crap,” he said. “It’s just something I’m going to keep in mind all year long until we get there again.”
He murdered us in Game 4 and if I remember he had a critical shot against us when he was with the Miami Heat. What are your thoughts in seeing him Purple & Gold? Sound-off in the comments and tell us what you think.
Boston.com: “Everyone in the league will go after him,” an NBA executive said. “The Lakers probably will. But it will probably be the same money. He can pick and choose. He’s like Robert Horry now. A team close to winning will sign him.

ESPN: Gilbert Arenas lived up to his word and opted out of the final year of his contract, the Washington Wizards said Monday.
The move had been long expected. Arenas has repeatedly said he would forgo the final year of his six-year, $65 million deal so that he could re-sign with the team for an even larger amount.
Arenas can begin negotiating with any team on July 1. While he has expressed a desire to remain with the Wizards, he has also said he won’t return unless the team also re-signs Antawn Jamison, who is also set to become a free agent.
Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld has said he wants to re-sign both Arenas and Jamison.
Arenas, a three-time All-Star, missed most of last season after two operations on his left knee. He has averaged 22.8 points,
Next time one of those ignorant, hater-Jazz fans comes around and talks bad about Derek, they should read this. Fish considered retiring to be the more important figure - a father (as opposed to an NBA player).
SportsExcite: Fisher acknowledged he considered retirement before signing a three-year, $14 million contract with the Lakers, which represented a $7 million pay cut from his previous deal.
“For a while, I did ,” he said. “I wasn’t sure what was required for us as parents.”
When it became clear he could continue to play, Fisher was only too happy to have an opportunity with the Lakers.
Andrew Bynum was interviewed by AM570. Bynum talks about his knee, his progress and, of course, the Lakers heading to the finals. Bynum also had some bold statements about our very own big 3.
UPDATE: Looks like Shaw won’t be heading over at all! Yahoo! is reporting Doug Collins will be back as the Bulls head coach next season. I think that’s a great fit, and selfishly, I never wanted Shaw to leave us. But IF he did/does, I as well as many out there wish him the best of luck.
O.C. Register: “I want to take a shot at it,” Shaw said. “I think I’m ready but that remains to be seen. I’ve always been the type of person that is ready to take on a new challenge and be placed in situation where it’s up to you, whether you sink or swim.”
Lakers.com: Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee today in New York, it was announced today by the team.
The procedure, which took 30 minutes and was performed by Dr. David Altchek, consisted of removing some cartilage debris and smoothing some rough spots on the underside of the kneecap.
Bynum is expected to make a full recovery by the start of training camp.
Some “crazy news” - pun intended. The Lakers were interested in Artest earlier this season, but now, it looks like there is some liking on both sides. From today’s SacBee…
RealGM: Kobe Bryant has admitted that he wouldn’t mind playing alongside Artest, and there is a growing belief that the strong personalities of Bryant and Coach Phil Jackson could help keep Artest in line.
As a restricted free agent, Ron would have to take a pay cut to the projected midlevel exception of approximately $5.6 million.
A sign-and-trade doesn’t seem to make sense as the Lakers will likely be looking to unload a bad contract like Vladimir Radmanovic.
