The Lakers Nation started two years ago to accomplish what the Lakers have accomplished today.
The city of Los Angeles is celebrating the franchises 15th World Championship, the first in 7 years. Kobe Bryant has validated his career as a winner with his fourth championship ring, and Phil Jackson has won his 10th ring.
Continue visiting the website throughout the day for more up to the minute coverage of the Lakers 15th championship, and check back for Champonship gear right here on TLN.
Give us your take on the victory by calling it on hotline at 1-866–520-4037
We thank you for your continued support, united we won!
A fantastic read from two of the sites friends, Arsine Khayoyan and David Dickey.
Basketball fans often groan when they open the NBA page to find that a sports writer’s ad hoc statistical gymnastics have the Jazz favored for the championship, or the Bucks with a higher power ranking than the Spurs.
It’s been said that “an unsophisticated forecaster uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts – for support rather than for illumination.” So as avid followers of the NBA, we decided to implement some of our skills as trained economists to our favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
UPDATE: He has some breathing issues and has been transported to a nearby hospital, but it “looks good” for Rudy. So it appears he may have some chest issues, but he’ll be alright! KCAL-9’s Ireland reports.
Rudy Fernandez was hit on a fast break from behind by Trevor Ariza who swooped at the ball, unfortunately hitting his head causing him to crash hard on the floor. Rudy was carried off on a stretcher and everyone in the arena held their breath; including the entire Lakers staff.
As Ariza left the floor, in a concerned look, he said something to Phil almost as if to tell him to apologize to the Blazers. When Rudy jumped, he left on one leg and when he was hit he wasn’t able to gather himself landing hard on the side of his body and perhaps, what looked like, banging his head.
We here at TheLakersNation.com keep Rudy in our thoughts and prayers. We will also keep you updated on the situation. Trevor Ariza was ejected with a flagrant 2. There was definitely no wrong intent on the play from our vantage points. We hope Rudy has nothing serious in this unfortunate injury.
Happy New Years, our fellow Laker fans! What a great year 2008 was for us.
We started 2008 uncertain where our team was going, and around the middle of the year, we knew where this team can go, and now, in 2009, were still left with that same sentiment… weirdly.
We’d like to thank everyone that made this a memorable year for us at the Lakers Nation; from Bob at AM570 to Brandon (Real Deal) who helps us administrate the Forums. Thanks to our members, without you, we seriously wouldn’t be here. Thanks!
Before we let you go, we’ll leave you with one question: What is your 2009 Lakers resolution? For most of us, it’s to catch more Laker games with our friends and family, either live or with the tube. So, what is yours? Sound-off!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at the Lakers Nation, we wouldn’t be around much if it wasn’t for you guys supporting what we do. So, we are thankful for that.
While you’re at the dinner table with your familia, be sure to find time to express your gratitude to your Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers are in the NBA Finals, let me say that one more time so it can stick in your head… THE LAKERS ARE IN THE NBA FINALS!
A year that has brought many emotions to everyone who is a part of the Lakers Nation. From the staff to the members who chill in the Shoutbox during Laker games.
I’m completely speechless and I just don’t know what to say. I feel like crying but at the same time, I want to scream and dance.
What are your thoughts? What are you going through right now? Let us know in the comments.
On behalf of the theLakersNation.com staff, we want to congratulate Kobe Bryant on his first NBA Most Valuable Player award.
Whether we are bloggers or writers, graphics makers or video makers, at the end of the day, we are all united as fans. We have followed this crazy year as a blog and have followed the “hollywood script,” as Kobe put it today. One thing about this website is that we were all together as fans. The Lakers bring us together. They bring out our creativity and our passion.
This past year (our website’s one year was yesterday, in fact), has been an amazing ride for us, the website and the fans. We have accomplished a lot out of hard work, determination and passion.
We decided to ask our beloved Lakers Nation staff members one question to start the New Year, “What do you expect from our Los Angeles Lakers in 2008?” This is what they had to say…
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at the Lakers Nation, we wouldn’t be around much if it wasn’t for you guys supporting what we do. So, we are thankful for that. We hope everyone out there has had a wonderful year, and especially, we hope you have a wonderful day. May each one be ever brighter!
Now, go stuff your mouth with turkey and junk but be sure to save some of that energy for the Lakers/Celtics game tomorrow NIGHT!
Over this weekend, you will notice some major changes to the website. The creators of the website had a dinner meeting tonight and discussed this website; it’s past, present, and future. We have finally all come together – ideas in hand – and come up with our plans for GetGarnett.com.
We have a lot of cool and interesting changes coming to GetGarnett.com; more innovative, creative changes. Stay tuned for more information, but coming this weekend, proceeding the aftermath of the Boston-Garnett trade, major changes will be coming.
I’m pretty damn excited for them and I have to say, I can’t wait for this weekend. We originally set out to do something special, and we thank the millions of fans from all over the world that tuned in to the fun. While Garnett didn’t land in Los Angeles, we promise, it doesn’t end here… in fact, it’s just the beginning.
Update #1: Bad news, I had to contact some people and it seems nothing can’t be done ’til Monday. Please bare with us… Sorry, folks!
